Dear Customers,
we have successfully upgraded our uplink to KPN, this is just the first of a series of upgrades planned for the roll-out of our internal “Next Generation Network” project. We will be fully upgrading all of our network infrastructure in the next four weeks, bringing all network infrastructure connections up to at least 10 Gbit/s using newest Cisco hardware.
We will be adding new routers and switches in both datacenters; upgrade works will take place during the night, so that impact should be minimized.
Why is this upgrade and the Next Generation Network project valuable for You as a customer?
- Even more bandwidth will be available per datacenter and per internal connections and crossover-links
- Latency should be further improved
- Backup- and Restore-services between datacenters will be even faster
- Large ACLs both at the edge and the core of the network will be implementable without performance loss
- New services will be availabe (Transport, MPLS, VPN, Virtual Storage, Virtual Switch, Virtual Firewall, new Cloud Services) at an even higher performance
- Bandwidth and latency to end-customer networks (like DSL-providers) will be enhanced
- Security, Intruder Detection, Traffic Inspection and dDoS Mitigation will be taken to the next level.
The exact dates of the upgrades, planned maintenance and potential service affecting or downtimes will be announced on this status-page in due course within the next 4 weeks.
